Chennai, Oct. 28 -- The Tamil Nadu government has revised autorickshaw fares across the state after 13 years, with the revised rates notified in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette on Tuesday.

According to the notification issued by the Home Department (Transport-I) under Government Order Manuscript series (G.O. Ms.) No. 366 dated October 27, the minimum fare has been fixed at Rs 50 for the first 1.8 kilometres, while an additional Rs 25 will be charged for every kilometre thereafter.

The notification was issued under Section 67 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The government fixed the Ghat fare at 1.2 times the minimum fare, with a base fare of Rs 60, and also fixed the additional Ghat fare at Rs 30 per kilometre.
