Ayodhya, March 8 -- Saints in Ayodhya offered special prayers for the Indian cricket team on Sunday as they prepare to take on New Zealand in the summit clash of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The sages carrying the posters of the Indian players and the national flag chanted mantras and performed havan for the good luck of the Indian team.
Similar scenes were witnessed in Kanpur and Varanasi, where special prayers were offered for the Indian team. In Varanasi, children from cricket academies participated in havans, while in Kanpur, residents performed auspicious rituals ahead of the high-stakes contest.
