T Raja Singh's acquittal has persuasive value in Nupur Sharma's case, however not binding: Advocate Karunasagar
Hyderabad, July 1 -- BJP leader and advocate Karunasagar said that the Telangana MLA T Raja Singh's acquittal in the 2022 case linked to alleged remarks hurting religious sentiments may have a "persuasive value" in Nupur Sharma's case; however, the judgment is not binding on other courts.
Speaking to ANI, Karunasagar, who represented T Raja Singh in the court, maintained that relief for Nupur Sharma depends on a proper investigation into the case.
He said, "Yesterday's acquittal of MLA Raja Singh naturally leads many people to ask whether it has any bearing on the pending case against Nupur Sharma. The legal position is this: Nupur Sharma is also facing similar allegations for referring to material which she maintains is found in Islami...
