Guwahati, Sept. 3 -- The Department of Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam, today organised State Sports Day 2026 at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi (KNCB) Indoor Stadium in Guwahati.

The programme was graced by the Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam, Biswajit Daimary, as the Chief Guest, according to a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the State Sports Day is an occasion to remember and celebrate the remarkable legacy of Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah, whose achievements have inspired generations of sportspersons in Assam and across the Northeast.
