Six G7 allies "strongly disagree" with US sanctions on International Criminal Court
Washington DC, Oct. 9 -- Six members of the Group of Seven (G7) on Friday (local time) expressed strong disagreement with the United States' decision to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), reaffirming their "continued and unwavering support" for the court's independence, impartiality and integrity.
In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom said, "We, the undersigned States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), reaffirm our continued and unwavering support for the independence, impartiality, and integrity of the ICC."
