Singapore City, July 31 -- The Singapore Government officially completed the acquisition process and took possession of the historic property at 38 Oxley Road on Friday, according to the Singapore Land Authority press release.

The move cements state ownership over the former residence of Singapore's founding Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew, securing the site to preserve its national and historic significance.

According to the Singapore Land Authority, the acquisition follows from the Site's gazette as a National Monument on 12 December 2025, and its subsequent gazette for acquisition on 29 January 2026.
