Namchi, July 21 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed anguish over the loss of lives in the collapse of an under-construction tunnel in Sikkim's Namchi district and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased.

The Prime Minister also announced Rs 50,000 for those injured in the incident.

"Anguished by the loss of lives due to the collapse of an under-construction tunnel in Namchi, Sikkim. I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
