Namchi, July 24 -- The rescue operation at the under-construction Head Race Tunnel (HRT) of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited's (NHPC) Teesta Stage-VI Hydroelectric Project in Sikkim has been concluded with the recovery of the bodies of all 25 personnel trapped inside the tunnel.

An unfortunate incident occurred on July 20 inside the under-construction Head Race Tunnel (HRT) of Teesta Stage-VI Project after a sudden burst of suspected methane gas trapped/embedded inside the rocks, which led to an explosion generating dense fumes and toxic gases.
