Shimla Citizens' body protests over monkey, langur and dog menace; seeks Rs 5 lakh compensation for woman killed after animal attack
Shimla, Sept. 14 -- The Shimla Nagrik Sabha on Monday staged a protest against the increasing menace of monkeys, langurs and aggressive stray dogs in the city and demanded Rs 5 lakh compensation for the family of a woman who died after allegedly falling from a rooftop following a monkey attack in the Cemetery area.
The protest was addressed by Shimla Nagrik Sabha president Jagmohan Thakur and secretary Vivek Kashyap, among others. The protesters said attacks by monkeys, langurs and dogs had become increasingly common in Shimla, posing a particular threat to women, children and elderly people.
The Sabha said the woman from the Cemetery area had gone to her rooftop to check water when monkeys allegedly attacked her. She fell from the roof...
