Sensex, Nifty open in red as West Asia conflict, hawkish Fed commentary weigh on sentiment
New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- India markets start the week in red as domestic equities face renewed selling pressure from escalating conflict in West Asia and hawkish commentary from the United States Federal Reserve.
The BSE SENSEX stood at 76,979.99 points, down by 284.52 points or 0.37 per cent, while the NSE NIFTY 50 stood at 24,117.55 points, declining 58.10 points or 0.24 per cent.
