SEBI extends SWP, STP standing instruction facility to demat mutual fund holdings
Mumbai, July 17 -- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Friday extended the facility of creating standing instructions for Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) and Systematic Transfer Plan (STP) to investors holding mutual fund units in demat form, a facility that was not available earlier.
The move is aimed at facilitating ease of doing business.
SEBI said mutual fund investors can currently avail the facility of SWP by creating standing instructions with the mutual fund or its Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) for periodic redemption of a specified number of mutual fund units or a specified amount.
