Samsung's HBM prices tipped to more than double in 2027
Seoul, Oct. 7 -- Samsung Electronics' high-bandwidth memory prices are expected to more than double next year as the industry shifts to HBM4 and tight DRAM supply gives memory-makers more room to raise contract prices, The Korea Herald reported, citing KB Securities, on Wednesday.
HBM is the high-speed memory used alongside advanced AI processors, making it one of the most closely watched parts of the semiconductor market as spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure grows.
KB Securities expects Samsung's HBM selling prices to rise more than 100 per cent on-year in 2027. It also said Samsung's HBM4 could be contracted at the highest price among the three major suppliers, Samsung, SK hynix and Micron.
