New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- The Delhi government has notified a scheme to provide compensation of up to Rs 7.5 lakh to families of prisoners who die due to unnatural causes in jails in the national capital, the Chief Minister's Office said on Sunday.

According to a post by the Delhi Chief Minister's Office on X, the scheme provides financial assistance to the families of deceased prisoners based on the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

"Compensation of up to Rs.7.5 lakh will now be provided to the families of deceased prisoners in cases of unnatural deaths in Delhi's jails.
