New Delhi, April 28 -- REC Limited a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of power has declared its highest ever profit of Rs 16,282 crore.

While approving the annual standalone and consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2026, REC Limited stated that the Indian power sector is at the cusp of new vibrance owing to numerous initiatives taken by Government of India.

The legacy loss-making power distribution companies achieved a rare, collective overall net profit, marking a significant turnaround.
