RBI swap facility draws $40.8 billion forex inflows till July 31, nearly double July 17 level
New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- The Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) special swap facility has mobilised USD 40.816 billion in foreign exchange inflows as of July 31, 2026, nearly doubling the USD 20.718 billion recorded as of July 17, indicating continued strong response to the central bank's measures to encourage foreign currency inflows and strengthen the country's balance of payments.
According to the latest RBI data, Foreign Currency Non-Resident (Bank) [FCNR(B)] deposits accounted for the bulk of the inflows at USD 36.725 billion, while Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs) contributed USD 2.575 billion.
