New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday revised its real GDP growth forecast for FY27 upward to 6.7 per cent from the earlier estimate of 6.6 per cent, while reducing Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation to 5 per cent for the current financial year from earlier forecast of 5.1 per cent.

Announcing the decisions of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said the Indian economy is expected to grow by 7 per cent in the first quarter of FY27, with growth likely to moderate to 6.8 per cent in the fourth quarter of the financial year.
