Bishkek, Aug. 31 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "personal attention" and leadership in strengthening India-Russia ties. As the two nations approach the 80th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, Putin credited their strong personal rapport for further deepening the "special and privileged strategic partnership" between the two countries.

Greeting PM Modi during the bilateral meeting in Bishkek on Monday on the sidelines of the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, President Putin said "I am very pleased to meet with you again."
