New Delhi, March 24 -- DMK MP Thamizhachi Thangapandian on Tuesday said that the proposed changes in Women's reservation law to make it applicable for the 2029 Lok Sabha polls is against the stand of BJP-led government earlier and that move is apparently aimed at the forthcoming assembly polls.
She said pushing any such amendment in "a very rushed, hurried manner" is not acceptable to her party.
"Let me make it very clear that our Chief Minister has not said that he is against the reservation. DMK has always and will always stand for the reservation of women, and there is no doubt about that. But the thing is now that the women's reservation bill may be based on the 2011 caste census.
