Policy of revenge politics: Jairam Ramesh says "National Defector Alliance" won't get 2/3 majority
New Delhi, June 18 -- Congress leader and General Secretary in charge of Communications, Jairam Ramesh, on Thursday accused the Union Home Minister and Prime Minister of resorting to "splitting parties" to lower opposition morale after failing to secure a two-thirds majority for a Constitution Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha.
Referring to events in Parliament on April 17, 2026, Ramesh said the Home Minister "faced insult" when the bill could not be passed as the government fell short of the required 2/3 majority despite its efforts.
