Poland backs India's permanent UNSC bid, seeks to deepen defence ties with technology transfer
New Delhi, July 14 -- Poland has reiterated its strong support for India's bid for permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), while also pitching for deeper defence cooperation, including joint production of military equipment, drones and satellites, Secretary of State at Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewski told ANI.
Backing India's long-standing demand for UNSC reforms, Bartoszewski said Poland supports New Delhi's aspiration to become a permanent member, but acknowledged that expanding the Council remains difficult as any structural change requires consensus among all existing members, each of whom has veto powers.
