Bishkek, Sept. 1 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

In a post shared on X, PM Modi said he had a "great conversation" with Rahmon and expressed India's keenness to expand bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

"Great conversation with Mr. Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan. India looks forward to boosting cooperation with Tajikistan across diverse sectors," PM Modi wrote.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 26th SCO Summit, which PM Modi addressed earlier in the day.
