Pak state neglect kills 14 children in tragic Lahore roof collapse
Lahore, July 6 -- Amid widespread grief over the tragic roof collapse in Lahore's Kahna area that claimed the lives of 14 children, affected families have pointed to systemic poverty and deep-seated administrative failure in Pakistan rather than individual blame.
A report by Dawn highlighted the catastrophic decay of basic civic infrastructure in the region, noting that several other youngsters and their teacher remain under treatment at a local hospital following the disaster.
The incident, which occurred on June 30, has once again exposed the grim reality faced by impoverished citizens under Pakistan's failing governance. Hassan, a local labourer residing on the same dilapidated street, lost his youngest son, five-year-old Arkam.
