NTPC power generation rises nearly 13% in Q2; coal dispatch, power trading also jump
New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- State-run power producer NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation Limited) generated 117.9 billion units (BU) of electricity during the second quarter of FY 2026-27, up 12.93 per cent from 104.4 BU in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
The rise in generation is significant as electricity production remains the core operating metric for NTPC, India's largest integrated power utility.
Coal dispatch by the company also increased sharply during the quarter, rising 28.45 per cent year-on-year to 11.899 million metric tonnes from 9.260 million metric tonnes in Q2 FY26.
