Pune, May 2 -- Police used mild lathi charge to disperse protesters who blocked the Pune-Bengaluru Highway in Pune district while demonstrating against the Nasrapur minor rape and murder case.

Protesters gathered on the highway on Saturday and surrounded the police team that reached the spot to clear the blockade and restore traffic movement.

The 65-year-old accused in the case has been sent to police custody till May 7 by the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Pune.
