Murder convict gets acquitted after 43 years of FIR as prosecution failed to prove allegations
New Delhi, June 20 -- A man convicted in a murder case, lodged in the year 1983, has recently been acquitted after 43 years of the incident in an appeal after the Delhi High Court held that the prosecution failed to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.
Mukesh Kumar alongwith others, was convicted for Murder and sentenced to life Imprisonment in 2004. He challenged the judgment before the Delhi High Court.
An FIR was lodged on December 1, 1983, at the Lajpat Nagar Police Station in connection with the stabbing incident in a DTC bus.
