Bhopal, Sept. 22 -- Days after MBBS intern doctors staged a protest regarding stipend hike, Ayurveda intern doctors in Madhya Pradesh have also demanded an increase in their monthly stipend, seeking parity with the amount being paid to MBBS interns and have warned of an agitation if their demand is not addressed within 15 days.

Dr Abhinav Joshi, a final-year student and Student Council President of Pandit Khushilal Ayurveda Institute on Tuesday said that Ayurveda interns were currently receiving a stipend of Rs 9,383 per month, which he described as inadequate and having a "single-point demand" regarding the stipend hike to Rs 21,500.
