New Delhi, Sept. 2 -- Sitting councillors and contractual employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will now be able to avail medical treatment at CGHS rates at hospitals empanelled with the civic body. The facility will also be extended to their eligible dependents under a newly formulated policy.

The policy has been introduced for the first time in the MCD and is expected to make healthcare more affordable and accessible, particularly for contractual employees working across different departments. Beneficiaries will be able to access treatment at CGHS rates at any MCD-empanelled hospital.
