Mumbai, Sept. 1 -- Maruti Suzuki India crossed the 1-million-unit mark in total sales within the first five months of financial year 2026-27, while Hyundai Motor India posted its highest-ever domestic sales for August and Tata Motors recorded a 49 per cent year-on-year growth in commercial vehicle sales in the same month.

Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 2,19,220 units in August 2026, including 1,80,078 units in domestic sales, 5,298 units sold to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and 33,844 units in exports. Its cumulative total sales during April-August stood at 11,43,365 units, compared with 8,89,070 units in the year-ago period.
