Mumbai, Sept. 9 -- Maharashtra is putting in place the architecture for the DELTA Act to create a legal framework for blockchain-based tokenisation of land and other immovable assets, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Wednesday, as the state looks to use emerging fintech to unlock dormant assets and widen access to ownership and capital.

Speaking at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, Fadnavis said the proposed Maharashtra Digitization and Exchange of Land Token Asset (DELTA) Act would establish a legal framework for the tokenisation of land and other immovable assets.
