Mumbai, Aug. 19 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday described the Shiv Sena election symbol dispute as a "sub judice" matter and declined to comment on the ongoing Supreme Court hearing, while asserting that the people of Maharashtra had given the government a landslide mandate in 2022.

Speaking on the Supreme Court proceedings in the case challenging the Election Commission's decision recognising the Shinde-led faction as the "real Shiv Sena" and allotting it the party name and "bow-and-arrow" symbol, Shinde said he did not consider it appropriate to comment while the hearing was underway.
