Lucknow, April 1 -- A major fire broke out late Wednesday night in several shops along the Sitapur Highway in the Bakshi Ka Talab (BKT) area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, causing significant property damage worth lakhs of rupees.

Speaking to ANI, Fire Station Officer Prashant Kumar said that the alert was received around 11:45 PM, and fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the scene.

"As soon as we received the alert, sometime around 11:45 PM, we immediately dispatched our fire tenders to the scene of the incident," he told ANI.

He added that due to the intensity of the blaze, additional units were called in from nearby areas to help control the fire.
