Tiruchirappalli, May 18 -- A horrifying incident unfolded in broad daylight on Monday in the Kajamalai area of Tiruchirappalli, where a young woman was brutally attacked by her lover.

The crime occurred near the Thanthai Periyar Government Arts and Science College, close to the highly secure offices of both the Central Zone Inspector General of Police and the District Superintendent of Police.

According to the police, the victim was a local college student whose parents strongly opposed her relationship, while the accused is a native of Ramanathapuram district and a graduate of St Joseph's College, currently working at a real estate firm in Thillai Nagar.
