Lam Research plans Rs 10,000 crore India investment for silicon component manufacturing, R&D expansion
Bengaluru, Sept. 16 -- Semiconductor equipment maker Lam Research on Wednesday announced plans to invest approximately Rs 10,000 crore in India over the next several years to establish its first silicon component manufacturing facility in the country and expand its advanced research and development operations.
The proposed investment will mark a significant expansion of the US-headquartered company's presence in India's semiconductor ecosystem. The new facility will support a vertically integrated manufacturing process covering silicon ingot production and processing for advanced semiconductor technologies and leading-edge chip nodes, according to the company release.
