Kyrgyzstan seeks UNSC reform, calls for equity, peace, stronger global representation
New York, May 19 -- Kyrgyzstan has called for a more equitable and inclusive global governance system, urging reforms in the United Nations Security Council to ensure better representation of developing, small and landlocked nations.
In a formal address to heads of state on Monday, ahead of the election of non-permanent members of the UN Security Council scheduled for June 3, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov highlighted rising global tensions and the weakening of the universality of international law.
