Gandhinagar, Aug. 25 -- A new scientific study conducted by researchers at the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research (GEER) Foundation, an autonomous body under the Gujarat Forest Department, has revealed that Ramsar designated site- Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary in Jamnagar provides highly suitable breeding habitat for the Black-necked Stork (Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus), one of India's largest and most distinctive wetland birds.

According to an official release from the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the study documented remarkable breeding success, with all monitored nests producing fledglings, underscoring the conservation value of the Ramsar-designated wetland.
