New Delhi, July 17 -- The Kerala Waqf Board has moved the Supreme Court against a Kerala High Court order which has restrained it from taking any major decisions until issued regarding alleged violations of the Waqf (Amendment) Act over its composition are resolved.

A bench led by the Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and comprising of Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana agreed to list the matter on Monday next week.

Today, the petitioner State Waqf Boards' counsel mentioned the plea and informed the Court that the HC order restraining it from taking any major decisions has made it practically defunct.
