Mandya, Sept. 2 -- Despite anxiety over water availability, agricultural activities have picked up in Mandya after water was released into the canals. Farmers have started preparing their fields for paddy transplantation with hope, even as they remain anxious.

Despite the water shortage and the government's warning not to take up fresh crops, farmers are getting ready for paddy transplantation. Currently, the government is releasing water into the district's canals in order to release water to Tamil Nadu.
