Bengaluru, Aug. 10 -- The Karnataka Food Safety Department conducted a series of inspections at various hotels across Bengaluru, leading to the seizure and disposal of 132 kg of food articles and 15 litres of used cooking oil.

During the inspection at Hotel Sky in UB City, officials found 45 kg of rotten chicken and beef along with 6 kg of vegetable cutlets and 15 litres of used cooking oil. These food articles, totalling 51 kg, were found unfit for consumption and were discarded or destroyed as per standard procedure.

In a related action, the kitchen of Skyee Lounge on the 16th floor of UB City was ordered to be closed due to unhygienic maintenance.
