Karnataka: Dy CM Parameshwara reviews severe drought situation, assures relief to farmers; Urges Centre for adequate assistance
Chamarajanagar, Sept. 2 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Wednesday inspected drought-affected areas in Gundlupet and Chamarajanagar taluks and reviewed crop damage, fodder availability and employment-related works, an official statement said.
Parameshwara, who is on a two-day visit to Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts to assess the drought situation, visited Ranganathapura, Nitre, Somahalli and Shigevadi villages in Gundlupet taluk, besides Mukkadahalli and Heggothara villages in Chamarajanagar taluk.
During the visit, he personally inspected damage to agricultural and horticultural crops, assessed fodder availability for livestock, reviewed works being carried out under the VB-G RAM G scheme to provide employment ...
