Shimla, Aug. 31 -- The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Monday launched its Force-level mountaineering expedition, codenamed "Parvat Sankalp-2026," to scale the 22,175-foot-high Mount Reo Pargil peak located in the Shipki-La sector.

According to the release, the expedition was officially flagged off during a ceremony held at Sector HQ Shimla by the Chief Guest, Manu Maharaj, IPS, Inspector General of HQ Northern Frontier ITBP, Dehradun.

Prior to flagging off the team, the Inspector General received a detailed briefing on the mission and interacted with the participating climbers.

The 21-day expedition, led by Expedition Leader Vinod Kumar, Deputy Commandant (GD) of the 43 Bn ITBP, comprises a 12-member team of core mountaineers.
