Hooghly, Aug. 11 -- Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket player Abhishek Porel was arrested on Friday in West Bengal following a criminal case registered on the complaint of a woman alleging fraud under false marriage promises.

Detailing the sequence of events during a media briefing, Hooghly Rural Superintendent of Police (SP) Kunwar Bhushan Singh stated that the premier domestic cricketer was taken into custody from Dum Dum in connection with a formal police complaint filed by a woman alleging relationship fraud under false marriage promises.
