Indian Railways approves Rs.405 crore signalling modernisation project on Eastern Railway
New Delhi, June 17 -- In a major push towards modernising railway infrastructure and enhancing operational safety, Indian Railways has approved a Rs.405 crore signalling upgradation project on the Eastern Railway network, officials said on Wednesday.
The project will involve the replacement of existing relay-based interlocking systems with Electronic Interlocking (EI) at 32 stations, including 25 Panel Interlocking (PI)/Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) stations and 7 Intermediate Block Signalling (IBS) locations across High Density Network (HDN) and Highly Utilised Network (HUN) routes.
