New Delhi, May 11 -- Asian Games silver medallist in men's long jump, Murali Sreeshankar, stamped his authority during the sixth leg of the Indian Athletics Series. Kerala's 27-year-old international athlete recorded a jump of 8.04m to win the men's long jump title at Chennai's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday.

Of the six legal attempts, the star long jumper had three legal jumps. His second jump was 7.90m, while his fourth attempt was 8.04m. He dug deep in his last and final attempt to further improve his performance, but settled for 7.97m, as per a press release from the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).
