New Delhi, Sept. 21 -- India will require significantly more data centre capacity as artificial intelligence adoption and other compute-intensive applications expand across the economy, Paisabazaar Chief Technology Officer Mukesh Sharma said on Monday.

Speaking to ANI on the sidelines of the Microsoft AI Infrastructure Summit India in New Delhi, Sharma said access to computing infrastructure would become increasingly important as AI use grows.

"The way Indian economy is going, the way AI is moving, I think we would need more data centers," Sharma noted.

He said data centres located closer to users and businesses can also help reduce application latency and improve access to computing capacity.
