New Delhi, April 2 -- India has reiterated its commitment to United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, emphasising the crucial role its troops play in maintaining global peace and security. Addressing a media briefing in the national capital, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted India's contribution to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), where approximately 600 Indian troops are currently deployed.
"Our troops under the aegis of UN-mandated peacekeeping missions have made a significant contribution to global peace and security," the MEA stated, underlining India's long-standing role as one of the largest and longest-serving contributors to UN peacekeeping missions worldwide.
