Tashkent, Aug. 30 -- India and Uzbekistan have agreed to deepen cooperation in environmental rehabilitation, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and human resource development, with New Delhi set to provide USD 1 million for greening and ecological rehabilitation of the Aral Sea region under its Grant-in-Aid framework.

The agreement was announced in the Joint Statement issued during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's state visit to Uzbekistan from August 29 to August 30, during which he held talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the two countries elevated their bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
