New Delhi, Oct. 14 -- India's expanding renewable energy capacity can support the growing electricity demand from data centres, with the country well-equipped to meet their future power requirements, Mayank Tewari, Additional Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), said.

Speaking exclusively to ANI on the sidelines of the Central Electricity Authority's (CEA) 53rd Foundation Day brainstorming event, Tewari said the government has decided to support the setting up of more data centres in the country.

"As a country, we have decided that we will support the setting up of data centres," he told ANI.
