Illinois, Oct. 15 -- The Consulate General of India in Chicago on Wednesday (local time) appreciated the timely action taken by US law enforcement authorities following the arrest of a 19-year-old man accused of allegedly planning a mass shooting targeting a Hindu place of worship in Illinois.

In a statement, the Indian Consulate said it was aware of reports concerning an alleged foiled attempt to target a place of worship in Aurora, Illinois, and confirmed that it was closely monitoring developments while remaining in touch with members of the Indian diaspora.
