India's 7.8% Q1 growth puts it well ahead of China, US and Europe
New Delhi, Aug. 31 -- India remained the fastest-growing major economy in the April-June quarter of 2026, with real GDP growth of 7.8 per cent, significantly ahead of other major economies including China, the United States and several large European economies.
As per official data, India's growth rate was well above China's 4.3 per cent during the same period (April-June). Malaysia and Singapore recorded growth of 6 per cent and 5.9 per cent, respectively, while Indonesia grew 5.29 per cent and South Korea 3.7 per cent.
