India-NZ FTA can be a 'beacon' for global trade amid tariff uncertainty: NZ Minister McClay

Wellington [New Zealand], September 19 (ANI): Amid growing uncertainty over tariffs and global trade rules, New Zealand Trade and Investment Minister Todd McClay has described the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement as a potential "beacon" for other countries, saying the pact demonstrates how trust and predictable rules can help businesses grow.
In an interview with ANI, McClay said the FTA is expected to come into force within the next month, with India and New Zealand now working on exchanging official notes to initiate the implementation process.
"We're very close now," McClay said, noting that the agreement had received strong backing in the New Zealand Parliament.
